Switching from Nikon to Fujifilm GFX 50s camera

I’ve been looking to make the switch from my Nikon cameras over to Fujifilm for a while and the Fujifilm GFX 50s camera seemed to be the right fit. For me, it isn’t so much about the technicals as the emotive in an image. However, the right kit for my job is really important. Because you have to have the fundamentals in place first. Then you can concentrate on shooting what you love, finding the reason behind the shot and shooting in an emotive way.

I have tried both the Fujifilm XT3 and the Fujifilm XT2 out before. I have been impressed with the performance. But I wanted a slightly larger file size. So, when Ffordes Photographic asked if I wanted to test out the Fujifilm GFX 50s camera body, I jumped at the chance.

This camera feels solid and also feels instantly familiar. It didn’t take long to get to grips with the GFX 50s at all. I shot the leaf details below with the Fujinon 100-200mm. I love photographing intimate landscapes; using shallow depth of field, distance, the background to create lovely details within nature. The beauty is these can be done anywhere; your garden or a local park is perfect. I am doing more teaching based around intimate landscapes like this and will run a more in-depth post about this shortly. But back to the GFX. It was handed back last week, but no doubt I will be the proud owner of one at some point in the New Year.
